Meet Bri Duval, PsyD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist proudly serving the greater Denver, Colorado area and PSYPACT-participating states.

Hey! I’m Bri

Hi, I’m Bri, a licensed clinical psychologist (Psy.D., CO License Number 0006551) based in Colorado. I specialize in helping adults work through trauma, grief, and relationship challenges using a grounded, collaborative approach. My style is relational and reflective, and I aim to create a space where you feel safe to explore, heal, and grow at your own pace.

I completed my doctoral training in Boston, where I focused on global mental health and gained clinical experience in community mental health centers, school-based services, and partial hospitalization programs. My research focused on suicide loss survivors and their experiences with early responders, which continues to inform my passion for supporting those navigating complex grief.

I completed my APA-accredited internship at Denver Health Medical Center, where I trained across inpatient psychiatry, outpatient mental health, and psychiatric emergency services. I then completed postdoctoral training at a nonprofit dedicated to serving survivors of interpersonal violence, further deepening my commitment to trauma-informed care.

Originally from Washington state, I feel most at home in nature. Outside of therapy, you’ll find me hiking, camping, or snowboarding.

My Approach|What to Expect

I take a thoughtful and collaborative approach to therapy. We’ll begin by exploring what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, and what’s been difficult to manage on your own.

In our first and second sessions, I use a structured but conversational style to gather important background information, including your mental health history, medical concerns, family dynamics, relationship patterns, past therapy experiences, and anything else that feels relevant. This helps guide our focus and ensures your care is well-informed and personalized.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. My work is grounded in humanistic values that emphasize self-awareness, emotional expression, and your capacity for growth. As therapy progresses, the work becomes more fluid and tailored to your needs. I draw from relational psychodynamic techniques to explore how early experiences and relationships may shape your present-day emotions, behaviors, and relational patterns. I also integrate contemporary cognitive and behavioral strategies when practical tools or structure are helpful, along with experiential methods like Gestalt and inner child work to support deeper emotional insight.

In addition to talk therapy, I offer EMDR and psychedelic integration work when clinically appropriate and aligned with your goals.

You don’t need to prepare or show up a certain way. Therapy is a space to be real, reflect, and make room for change at your own pace.
